Looking for simple and inexpensive kitchen storage and organisers? Here are a few I found very useful in our small kitchen and would buy again in a heartbeat.
LITTLE THINGS CREATE BIG CHANGES.
I don’t know about you but I get stressed and uninspired in the kitchen when there is too much visual stimulation around me. I am currently on the journey of decluttering our entire home and that includes the kitchen.
So far the process has taken a lot longer than I anticipated. Slowly but surely however we are getting there.
Our kitchen is relatively small which brings a few challenges of organising it so that everything fits and the space still doesn’t look cluttered. For the reference, our joined Kitchen and Dinner area is 6m x 2.5m (19.6ft x 8.2ft) the actual kitchen part of it is about half that.
Now, if we wanted to splash out we would get a much better custom fitted kitchen cabinets with fancy storage solutions, and let’s be real, who wouldn’t want that! BUT. We just aren’t ready to spend that kind of money, especially knowing that our cabinets were only installed about 5 years ago by the previous house owners and on top of that, we are hoping to move to a different property within our small town, in the next couple of years. So, it’s just not worth it.
Getting the right type of organisers has taking me ages and I’m not even half way there, but trust me when I tell you, I’ve looked at many options and I mean many. So these 6 kitchen organisers are what I truly am planning on buying again, simply because they work the best in my small kitchen space.
It’s amazing how simply organising my drawers and cupboards made me more motivated to experiment with new dishes. It also made me want to properly organise our ladder next!
Our ladder was such a godsend for luck of storage a couple of years ago, but as you can see, it really needs to be better organised because it’s overflowing! haha
DECLUTTER FIRST! KITCHEN ORGANISERS SECOND!
I know. You are probably sick and tired seeing this mentioned everywhere but it really is the only way forward. I’ve made that mistake at the beginning of my house re-organising journey 2 years ago.
For instance, I’ve purchased a lot of soft storage containers to organise my wardrobe, before I even started to go through my old clothes, and the end result was…even bigger mess for many weeks! And all this while I juggled full time work with the fatigue of being in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy. That wasn’t fun let me tell you. haha
It turned out I had WAY MORE clothes than I imagined and they seemed to be coming out of every cranny in the house! I’m much better now, at resisting buying all the pretty clothes I see on Vinted! Thankfully my husband was very supportive of this and also decluttered a huge amount of his wardrobe, ever since.
Keeping clothes in check is a constant work in process.

EVEN A SMALL KITCHEN IS THE HEART OF HOME.
Our small kitchen gets very busy. No doubt is’s the case in every household as it’s the heart of home. Keeping it clean and organised is my priority. It is however especially tricky these past few weeks while we are building a conservatory which will be attached to our kitchen/dining area.
I look forward to that extra space. It will be our snug room but we are also hoping to put our ladder/pantry out there which will create more space for our dinning table.
SMALL KITCHEN ORGANISERS I LOVED
1. A perfect tea storage organiser
I was trying to figure out what would be the best way to store our teas and coffees, until I found this organiser.
What I love about it the most is that you can see each tea without having to label them. Out of my list this is by far the most expensive one but when I first bought it it was on sale. And I wish I bought 2 or 3 at the time! Because by the time I decided I really like it and wanted to order the second one, it went up in price! No doubt due to the popularity of it!
2. Organising the lids was tricky
This simple peg rack works perfect for us. What I like the most about it is how fast I can store the lids away or take them out.
When I looked for inspiration on Pinterest, at first I thought that hanging them on the inside of the cabinet’s doors will work the best. But when I measured how much space my lids take and realised I would have to hang them on two separate doors, I gave up on the idea.
3. Spinning storage trays
These spinning clear trays let me see what spices I have on the shelf so easily.
So far I bought these twice and I’m planning to purchase more to organise my shelves in the fridge. These are a real game changer because it’s hard to see what’s at the back of the fridge so it helps a lot.
4. 3-tier plates racks
Now this may not be the most practical solution if you have a lot of plates
I’m actually hoping to buy another one of these. They worked brilliantly in our kitchen. I know some people prefer to stack their plates vertically and I know it is probably more convenient, but it can also take more space in the cupboard.
5. a simple one tier rack
This one isn’t a rocket science and that’s why I like it. Simply elevate your glasses or anything else you need organised and voila! You get double the space.
We try to keep our glasses collection to a minimum but somehow we still accumulated enough for a family of 6! I use another one of these racks in our pantry. I will be buying a couple more when organising the pantry as they work perfectly.
6. Baskets and clear trays
Where there is a lot of clutter, just throw it into a basket and it makes it look put together in literally 30 seconds. I found these handy baskets at Tesco’s on a major sale and bought them in 3 sizes. They are very useful in bathrooms, cupboards, and even for our toddler’s lego. Everything looks tidy in seconds. The same applies to the fridge and drawers.
The kitchen cupboard drawers are quite shallow so I used these narrow plastic organisers.
There is still a lot of areas where I haven’t gotten to but I will definitely get it done. The clear long trays work perfectly for my essential oils for instance.
BONUS ONE.
My next project is the master bedroom’s bedside tables. The drawers there just seem to accumulate random items all the time. I’ve already purchased a very similar set of plastic organisers but in a dark brown colour. They sell out quickly though so the alternative is clear ones.
Hopefully you found it helpful or it gave you an idea for organising your own kitchen.
Save it on your Pinterest for the future reference!
